A well established and growing global design firm, located in Seattle, Washington, has contracted with DBI to find and hire a Director of Healthcare Architecture to support the firm's design efforts.

This firm is unique in their aesthetic and their design approach.  With a deep interest in bold design, believing that design starts with carful listening.  The firm goes further, keenly incorporating data and environmental evidence to enhance spaces for their client.

The Director of Healthcare Architecture must bring an entrepreneurial spirit. Tasking with establishing and growing this new studio in the office, this candidate must be a skilled designer, manager, business development lead, strategic influence and operational north star.  They will be a leader in the firm, bringing a strong blend of design and technical skill the role, balancing both with clear management direction.  The projects will be smaller projects, critical to the firm's profit.

Required Work Experience:

· Required to draw upon strong leadership skill to develop and execute short- and long-term strategy and operation

· Must be good with people and able to work across the firm, both to influence and the learn

· Must bring strong business development skills as growing new business will be the first priority

· Will grow and lead a team of strong and talented designers, planners , and architects

· Leverage the ability to work in an ambiguous and autonomous environment as you grow this studio with the overall firm supporting you

· Collaboration is the foundation of this firm, and this role

· Communication at all level is critical for success

· Must have a deep understanding of the healthcare, including behavioral and metal health projects

· A resourceful and creative problem solver will do well in this role

· A passion for the Healthcare industry, its future, drivers, and foundation

Candidate Qualification:

· 12+ years of experience in the healthcare design and architecture industry

· Registered Architect

· A depth of domestic healthcare experience

· Strong business development and client management background
