A small but growing hospitality design firm has engaged DBI to find a Senior Designer. Candidates must provide structured & effective leadership while having the ability to evaluate, select & manage multiple design teams within an established budget, schedule, site & programmatic requirements. For the right candidate, this is the role that takes them to their next level, or that allows for growth not being found in a larger firm.

Required Work Experience:

• Reports directly to senior management and contributes to the general direction of the firm
• Assists senior management in developing business proposals and contracts as required
• Manages conceptual design direction for review by senior management and implementation by project teams
• Oversees the selection of FF&E materials, space planning and programming developed by Senior Designer
• Responsible for quality control for schematic design, design development and construction documents, and FF&E specification phases prepared by design teams
• Acts as client contact for project management and contractual related items
• Leads client presentations and meetings with senior management, sometimes without
• Participates in industry events, forums, and conferences as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor/ Master’s Degree from an accredited Interior Design/Architecture program
• Minimum 8 years of experience in broad range of hospitality and residential Interior Design
• Current registration with NCIDQ or state architectural licensing board strongly preferred
• Experience with LEED® projects, LEED® AP certification preferred
• Expert knowledge of construction materials, Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) specifications/ providers, particularly as applicable to the hospitality industry
• Broad experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
• Experience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teams
• Experience maintaining and developing long lasting client relationships
