Job Title: Modelling Engineer Location_ Allen Park MI
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Qualifications : • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering and/or related field • This position requires a skilled and experienced engineer with experience in developing vehicle/system level plant models and tools using Matlab Simulink /Stateflow / Simscape • Minimum 5+ years of experience in real-time controls plant modeling, mechanical or electro-mechanical components, or simulation for vehicle domains and subsystems • Modeling of physical systems for HIL simulation in the following domains include (but not limited to) o Vehicle Dynamics and Traffic simulation o Electric machine/component simulation (e.g. for Hybrid vehicle applications) o Basics of EV architecture and power flow o Understands vehicle system interaction among all dynamic systems such as chassis, powertrain, ADAS, body, etc • Hands on experience in Design, configuration, and application of dSPACE HIL simulators • Ability to work independently on configuring of RTICANMM / BUS Manager. • Good Knowledge and experience on Radar/LIDAR, camera sensor and I/O Systems • Highly skilled in use of MATLAB/Simulink to understand the complex model and able to develop the virtual ECU (modeling/simulation/development) • Hands on Experience on Vehicle Plant Model development for HIL testing in dSPACE ControlDesk for Simulation • Should have strong Problem solving capability. • Proven ability in developing plant models in Simscape (Battery, Motors etc.) • Familiarity in developing vehicle plant models in Carmaker, Carsim, ASM or Dyna4 • Good understanding of MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL simulation methodologies • Willingness to learn new tools and modeling methods
Roles and Responsibility : • Work with cross-function team to identify plant model requirements for HIL/System Integration testing • Support development of real-time Simulation Models using MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape, ASM, Carmaker, etc. for testing of integrated controllers using Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) • Design & Develop SW tools using M scripts/Python scripts to automate integration of closed-loop library models • Interface with hardware, controls, and domain simulation teams to adapt their models for HIL closed-loop feature testing • Work with requirement owners to establish validation metrics for plant models • Validate component, sub-system or full system model against actual vehicle data from field • Document and track modeling issues as appropriate • Participate in triaging of model issues with various teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution • Implement performance improvements as well as improve model fidelity/functionality • Develop software tools to help with process optimization • Help with scalability of model for new and upcoming products • Participate in the design of a world-class engineering effort to bring electric vehicles to a new level of refinement
