Job Title: Field Engineer
Location: Midland, TX
Job Description:
• The requirement is for a Field Engineer in Midland, requiring daily travel to upstream Oil & Gas facility, such as well pads. Basic job duties involve below tasks.
• Carry out Field Equipment Walkdown and P&ID v/s As-is condition verification.
• Carry out P&ID/ Engineering document markups based on changes observed in field.
• Capture photos of equipment, covering different views and its connections using client developed inspection application from handheld devices (customer provided or personal).
• Capture equipment data, such as field identification, nameplate data, and any other required technical Information.
• Can involve lifting of equipment up to 30 lbs.
• Submit the reports of field walkdown to town office on a daily-basis.
• Drive company’s 4x4 on daily basis to reach facilities – can involve off road driving.
• Keep the vehicle in up and running condition.
• Submit expenses on Company’s online system.
This is a field-based role, 5 days a week, with minimum expectations to:
• Imbibe safety practices while carrying out above tasks.
• Stay over-night outside of Midland at Company’s cost, if facility is far off from Midland.
• Rent 4x4 vehicle at Company’s expense, if Company’s vehicle is not available.
• Maintain professional conduct at all times, and adhere to Coordinator’s instructions on day-to-day tasks.
Education:
• High school with 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Engineer/ Diploma in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience, not more than 15 years.
• Knowledge of upstream Oil & Gas fields - onshore well pads & facilities is preferred.
Skills
Facility walk-down activities.
• In-depth knowledge to read, interpret, modify and create engineering documents, such as P&ID, PFD, Isometrics, Plant Layout, Plot Plan, Equipment General Arrangement & Detail Drawings
• Perform plant walk-down for P&ID and PFD verification with As-Is condition in plant and create red/blue line mark-up for the gaps
• Ability to sketch P&IDs, PFDs, Equipment Inspection Drawings and Isometric drawings from scratch wherever these drawings are not available with client
• Ability to collect essential details of critical equipment from nameplates
• Perform plant walk-down to gather missing information for equipment/pipeline
• Needs to have good coordination skill as the hand drawn/updated sketches to be sent back to India office for conversion to AutoCAD files.
• Incorporate red-line mark-up in AutoCAD drawing to create As-Built drawing
• Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, CAD/Graphics, and reading of drawings.
• Sound knowledge of Safety procedures to be followed during plant walk-down
Experience with Microsoft Suite:
• Fully conversant in MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS-Office tools
• Agree to configure MS Outlook, MS Teams and other required client or company application on personal device for day-to-day business functions.
• Adaptive to use company portals and tools for claim submission, timesheet entry, attendance markings etc.
Communication, Planning and Reporting:
• Excellent with oral and written English language communication
• Honest and consistent daily field activities reporting to Coordinator
• Ability to plan weekly field activities for self/team as per projection and gather required information and tools to carry out them in timely manner
• Ability to prepare work requirement checklist
• Ability to prepare QA/QC checklist for the activities
• Ability to work independently yet team-player & collaborative with Project Focal, Team members and customer
• Ability to effectively represent information and respond to questions in a meeting environment.
