Job Purpose:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our Mapleton Foundry and Machine Shop, one of the largest in the United States and home to the world's largest core making machine. You will lead a team of up to eight manufacturing engineers and production non-traditional roles, and provide day-to-day technical foundry operations support. You will also leverage processes expertise, implement tooling development, and drive continuous improvements to operational safety, quality, efficiency, and cost management.
Job Duties:
• Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing engineering team • Align with operations on people, quality, velocity, and cost targets for the full value stream • Recruit and retain talent for the manufacturing engineering team • Lead continuous improvement projects for the foundry and machine shop • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Basic Requirements:
• 4-year college degree in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline with 7 years of progressive manufacturing experience, or equivalent 15 years of progressive manufacturing experience • Direct leadership, project leadership, or team lead experience • Foundry or machining process experience • Analytical ability and excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience • Experience with Excel spreadsheet formats
