Job Title: SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST FIRST ASSIST Location: Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, United States

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Nursing Director, the Surgical Tech First Assist (STFA) works in collaboration with

the surgeon and health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for

providing care to all patients in a professional and ethical manner. Performs duties in accordance with the

Pennsylvania Surgical Practice Acts, Phoenixville Hospital policy and procedures, physicians' orders,

Phoenixville Hospital philosophy, goals and mission. Follows and is held accountable to Community Cares

Model and The Culture Handbook. Intraoperatively, the STFA practices at the direction of the surgeon.

The tech shall assist the surgeon during surgical procedures in a manner as to make the procedure safe,

effective, and smooth flowing while adhering to strict aseptic technique. The tech shall be responsible for

the peri-operative care of the surgical patient by proficiently planning, implementing, and evaluating the

preparation of the surgical cases. Other duties as assigned (Picking cases, stocking rooms, etc.)

Qualifications: Education Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of surgical Technology

Experience

STFA Experience Required

Certification and Licensure

BLS certification required.

PA Surgical Tech license required.
