Job Title: Aerospace Procurement / Buyer - Hybrid
Location: Vergennes, Vermont
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities Include:
· Work with the customer to identify qualified suppliers for key aerospace electrical components
· Review supplier quotations and evaluate for cost, turnaround time, and quality
· Follow standard work to place POs with suppliers
· Order parts from suppliers on behalf of the customer, addressing the priority needs for the customer
· Generate and maintain a tracker to track commitment dates, supplier progress, action items, and shipments
· Report out progress and status to the customer on a regular basis
· Assist in generating status reports and sitting in on status meetings to update key LTTS and customer stakeholders
· Understand supplier delivery risks and be empowered to generate mitigation plans
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to current supply chain customer processes, tools, trainings, etc.
· Adhere to import, export, and procurement regulations.
· Travel to the nearby customer site regularly
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as Part Prints, Bills of Material, Manufacturing Routings, and Job Order forms.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong computer proficiency with desired experience using Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
· Ability to prioritize work and adapt your work schedule to meet deadlines.
· Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 7+ year(s) of relevant experience
· Strong electronics background in the aerospace industry
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
· An understanding of DPAS & DFARS requirements
· Knowledge and experience using consumption-based and forecast-based planning methods.
· Previous procurement and sourcing experience in an ISO-9001 or equivalent QMS “Quality Management System”
· Exposure to supplier development and delivery assurance
· An understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices
· Knowledge of supply chain management
· Experience with project and/or program management
· Experience with engineering and quality processes
· Exposure to various manufacturing processes
· An ability to build positive intercompany relationships
· Outstanding communication and reporting skills
