Job Title: Engineering Project Manager - Automotive (Electrical & Electrification) Location: Detroit, MI
Job Description:
• Technical project management to plan and manage the development and delivery of Electrical and Electronic subsystems and components. • Deeply engaged in the design & development engineering process and will manage projects from concept through to prototype validation and then introduction to production. • Communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risks, and develop recovery plans in the event of project slip. • Follow AAM ASPICE processes in project management: MAN.3 in creating and maintaining project management plans, ACQ.4 process for supplier monitoring, SUP.9 Problem resolution, SUP.8 Configuration management and SUP.10 Change request management. • Ensure that development, validation, and delivery are according to ISO26262 and ASPICE process guidelines. • Plan and conduct / support quality gate reviews. • Interface with cross function teams – System, Requirements, design, controls, manufacturing, test, quality, to define and drive development of new product projects
Requirements: • BE in Electrical / Electronic engineering discipline, Automotive / Systems Engineering. • 10+ years of experience in complex and fast-paced design & development, cross-function teams orientated environment in developing and / or managing programs for high volume mass production projects. • Demonstrate understanding of new product development cycles and criticality of time to develop and launch. • Ability to grasp complex technical topics, key issues, risks in actionable form. • Experience in working as Scrum Master • Experience as a lead (technical) engineer or leading group of engineers • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills. • Excellent verbal and communication skills with teams and Management, customers • Utilize Microsoft Project for planning and ability to create and maintain metrics. Preferred Skills; • Master’s or advanced degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering discipline, Automotive / Systems Engineering. • Strong Experience in software project management, risk management and supplier management. • Knowledge of review techniques and methods. • Technical knowledge of driveline systems. • Knowledge and usage of IBM RTC, DOORS, PLM Team Center.
