Battery Manufacturing Engineer
Work Location: Troy MI
Experience: 8 to 10 years
Responsibilities
· Represent customer at supplier location for Battery system test process
· Communicate and capture issues back to design team and collaborate on findings and recommended changes in design or test procedure
· Maintain project test cell documentation, deviation implementation as well timeline progress reporting
· Arrange reviews with extended design teams and suppliers on milestones, plan and report achievement with risk identification.
· Get involved in the Test cell set up from provided prints and specifications. Manage inbound test related parts tracking including mechanical structure, harnesses or any other test instrumentation and data loggers.
· Perform all other duties as needed.
Education:
Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Requirements:
· Good communication skills (verbal and written) as well as a great attention to detail.
· Program management experience with collaboration with remote design teams and partners for build and End of line testing process.
· Experience or exposure to battery systems or powertrain development programs.
· Experience with test set up on high voltage and power converters (e.g. 480VAC, 1000VDC, 500kW inverter/charger)
· Experience and understanding of testing results and interpretation with design criteria.
· Basic understanding on inverters and DC/DC converters.
· Basic understanding on control communication networks such as CAN and Ethernet.
· Exposure with HIL (Hardware in the Loop) is a plus.
· Experience in reading electrical drawings and mechanical prints.
· Mechanical engineering degree or similar preferred, but not required with applicable experience.
