    PURCHASING AGENT

    We are looking for a dynamic, motivated candidate to join our team as a purchasing agent.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning representative
    • Verify and submit purchase requisitions for quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts
    • Expedite purchases appropriately based on supply and need
    • Track and monitor orders with detailed statuses in an easily accessible manner
    • Provide regular order status updates to team members
    • Resolve shipments in error with suppliers
    • Timely follow up and escalation on delayed shipments
    • Collect, analyze, and summarize purchasing data and trends for future planning and strategic inventory control
    • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
    • Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods and services to be purchased
    • Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions and price trends
    • Random verification of Inventory
    • Work closely with Supply Chain Distribution
    • Assist with Inventory Reduction Processes
    • Other tasks as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Previous purchasing, inventory management, and/or budgeting experience
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, fluid environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications
    • Highly motivated
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Outstanding customer service skills
