Being a Communications Specialist at DCG means embracing innovation and digital transformation to deliver the best communications products to help the government adapt to new ways of work. In this role, you will support a large-scale strategic communications and program that helps the government adapt to new technologies and provide better service to our nation’s Veterans. You will also provide support for change management activities, internal and external campaign planning and implementation, making recommendations for process improvements, facilitating collaboration, and documenting processes. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will develop consistent messaging and materials to support internal and external stakeholder engagement events including town halls, conferences, and other meetings. Communications Specialist will write a range of communications products including social media content, internal communications plans, newsletters, blogs, factsheets, and flyers. Location: Currently the entire DCG team is working virtually due to COVID-19. Once it is safe to return, the Communications Specialist may work a few days per week on the client site, space permitting, or at DCG’s WeWork office conveniently located in Washington, DC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience supporting strategic communications campaigns, to include federal clients, preferably at a public relations firm/agency
• Proven experience developing content on social platforms
• Knowledge of change management trends
• Experience developing communication products such as blog posts, outreach toolkits, one-pagers, blogs, newsletter articles, and other traditional communications products
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple deadlines
• Demonstrate strong writing skills for content generation with the ability to edit materials prepared by others to ensure deliverables are client-ready
• Experience in internal communications planning and implementation
• Exceptional attention to detail and task management
• Outstanding written communication abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with IT communications to include the ability to distill complex technical information into user-friendly language
• Experience with internal, executive-level communication is a plus
• Experience with or knowledge of federal and/or health IT media organizations and trade associations including FedHealthIT, HIMSS, GovTech, etc.
