    JOB BRIEF

    We are looking for an efficient Human Resources (HR) Specialist to join our team and be accountable for a variety of HR support duties. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. This person will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations. To succeed in this role, the candidate should be familiar using HR software and tools. We are looking for someone with a process improvement mindset and proven track record of results and accountability. Ultimately, the candidate should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization.

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

    This role will support the general functions of the DCL Human Resources team, located in Charleston, South Carolina at our Bushy Park location. The HR Specialist will be the first contact for employee questions and requests and play a key role in the recruiting function for Bushy Park, supporting the Talent Acquisition team as necessary. The role will provide support to all HR functions, including training as a Payroll back-up.

    Responsibilities:

    • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance-this includes requests from employees, managers and external partners
    • Redirect HR related calls or correspondence to the appropriate member of the Human Resources team
    • Support the recruitment/hiring process by managing the ATS, screening candidates, requesting background checks, issuing offer letters, scheduling interviews, arranging travel, etc.
    • Perform orientations, onboarding and update records with new hires
    • Maintain records of employee-related data – both paper and electronic versions to ensure all employment requirements are met and in compliance
    • Perform administrative support duties as needed by the Human Resources team
    • Escalate or re-direct HR related items as necessary
    • Create and implement regular HR metric reporting
    • Collaborate with other functions to include but not limited to Finance, Operations, Benefits and Payroll
    • Assist supervisors in a variety of HR activities – i.e. Performance Management, policy interpretation, etc.
    • Coordinate Human Resources events
    • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, such as employee engagement surveys
    • Perform all other duties as assigned

    Requirements and skills:

    • Proven experience in a relevant Human Resources role; 5+ years of experience preferred
    • Knowledge of HR processes, compliance and best practices
    • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular)
    • Experience and confidence with HR systems to include HRIS/HCM and ATS, experience with hands-on employee data management, employee data analytics and reporting as well as candidate data management and reporting
    • In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, such as resume databases and online communities and familiarity with social media recruiting
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
    • Ability to handle all aspects of Human Resources confidentially
    • Strong organizational, time management and teamwork skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management or related experience is required.
    • Human Resources certification is a plus.

    This is a full-time exempt position.

    Must be able to travel in United States and Canada on occasion.
