    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

    Plan maintenance and reliability work; coordinate such resources as parts, equipment, and manpower to avoid delays and obstacles, thus maximizing the efficiency and productivity of the workforce. The Planner works closely with Reliability & Planning Manager, Production, Maintenance Team Coach and Reliability Engineer to identify and plan maintenance work.

    This position is a 40-hr./wk. day shift. Overtime is required including potential weekend, intermittent off-hour and shutdown coverage as necessary and/or assigned.

    Fulfill job responsibilities by active in-plant involvement and the establishment of sound working relationships with plant operations management and staff. Leverage effectiveness by utilizing outside resources to accelerate progress of process studies / projects.

    SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • The Planner must visit job sites to assess the planning required for each job.

    • The Planner is to coordinate with necessary resources to select proper materials and procedures that need to go into the job plan.

    • Secures drawings, specifications, procedures and other information required to perform the work.

    • Estimates manpower and material for each job.

    • Reserves / allocates tools, materials and equipment.

    • Schedules and coordinates contractor support.
      Plans corrective, preventive, predictive and capital project work orders.

    • Prepares job plans and packages for both daily and extended assignments (i.e. shutdowns).

    • Prepares and communicates planned work with Infrastructure Reliability Coordinator and Maintenance Team Leaders.

    • Utilizes critical path techniques and graphic aids (i.e., GANNT charts, etc.) on large projects.

    • Identifies annual workload requirements for budget preparation.

    • Develops and maintains job plan files for future reference, particularly on repetitive jobs.

    • Attend a daily scheduling meeting with Maintenance and Production representatives.

    • Review completed work orders. Follow-up on comments that are written on the back pertaining to job planning.

    • The Planner is to set up and delete spare parts.

    • The Planner must maintain a workable relationship with Production, IRC, and Engineering.

    • Perform additional assignments as directed by the Reliability & Planning Manager

    • Prepare new or modify existing Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's).

    • Prepare new or modify existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).

    • Review equipment, civil, structural, piping, mechanical, and electrical drawings to ensure compliance with basic engineering standards.

    • Develop equipment and instrument specifications as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    The position requires the individual to be a High School graduate, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the Maintenance environment preferably as a maintenance planner, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication. In-depth knowledge of craftwork and processing equipment are an absolute. Strong organizational skills and familiarity with labor practices are also necessary. Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Strong computer skills in Maintenance Management Systems are required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This role will primarily be located at DCL's Bushy Park facility in South Carolina. Exposure to Manufacturing environment when in the plants. Reports to Reliability and Planning Manager. Interfaces with employees at all levels. Directs and manages EPC firms, construction contractors, consultants, etc. Interfaces with suppliers and customers.
