  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Operator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of complex chemical processing equipment, including reactors, distillation columns, and filtration systems. You will monitor and control process variables, perform routine equipment maintenance, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

    Under the general direction of a manager and/or Team Leader, the Chemical Operator will perform a variety of processing tasks in the production of high-performance organic pigment used in coatings for automotive, industrial, and architectural applications and for coloring plastics, and fibers.

    SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

    The specific responsibilities of the Chemical Operator include but are not limited to:

    · Safely operate and maintain chemical processing equipment

    · Monitor and control process variables to ensure optimal performance and product quality

    · Troubleshoot and resolve process issues in a timely manner

    · Train and mentor junior operators on process procedures and equipment operation

    · Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations

    · Maintain operation of complex chemical processing equipment, including reactors, distillation columns, and filtration systems

    · Closely monitor and control process variables

    · Perform routine equipment inspections as needed

    · Always ensure compliance of SOP's, safety protocols and environmental regulations

    · Strictly adhere to batch sheets and work procedures

    · Routinely wear a paper/dust mask, potential to wear on a regular basis

    · Process samples according to standard operating procedures

    · Perform tasks and duties in support of production processes

    · Comply with Quality Standards set forth in ISO Quality Manual

    · Carefully operate material handling equipment including hoists and forklifts

    · Use and follow batch sheets, barreling reports, blend sheets, floor sheets, and equipment procedures

    · Actively participate in and support site initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and the site Safety Program

    · Perform work in multiple areas that support production processes and ensure schedule compliance

    · Perform additional tasks as assigned **

    QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    · High School Diploma/GED

    · Minimum of 3 years' experience in chemical production, chemical manufacturing environment or a related field

    · Associates degree or certification(s) in related field preferred

    · Strong understanding of chemical reactions and processing techniques

    · Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    · Strong mechanical aptitude

    · Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    · Strong familiarity of understanding chemical safety regulations and procedures **

    POSITION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a full-time position. Regular hours of work are 12-hour rotational/swing shifts.
