Responsibilities:

• Provide speech therapy services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the appropriate treatment plan
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment plans

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech and swallowing
• Experience in case management, including coordinating care with other healthcare professionals
• Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices
• Ability to work in acute care settings, including ICU and critical care units
• Excellent patient care skills, including empathy, active listening, and effective communication
• Proficient in conducting patient assessments using standardized tools and measures
