    Job Description

    ELIGIBILITY REPRESENTATIVE LL POSITION

    The Eligibility Representative II will assist the Program Manager in the training process sharing knowledge and skills as directed. Utilizes intermediate customer skills to interact with the basic client representatives. Will perform detailed in-house review and bedside interviews to determine if patient is a viable candidate for State, Federal, County, Medical or Disability Assistance, and if so to assist the patient/guarantor with the application process for any Assistance type program.  This assistance will include the necessary investigative, field, and administrative work needed to assist the patient in meeting eligibility requirements for Disability, Medicaid or other applicable County, Federal or State programs if appropriate.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Some college and one to two years related experience and/or comparable combination of education, related experience and/or training. 
    • Thorough knowledge of government health care eligibility programs  
    • Ability to use a PC effectively including various database programs, with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office Programs. 
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. 
    • Must be self motivated, with a close attention to detail. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. 
    • Ability to learn multiple state/federal/local program policies and procedures. 
    • Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashion. 
    • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule. 
    • Willingness to work as part of a team. 
    • Ability to learn and handle multiple responsibilities and enforce priorities set by program manager. 
    • Ability to relate to people and make them feel comfortable. 
    • Availability of personal transportation.  
    • BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) PREFERRED
