Job Summary
Maintain landscaping, grounds, and irrigation systems to provide a safe environment and neat and orderly appearance. Maintenance shall include, but not be limited to, mowing, trimming, pruning, removing debris & garbage, watering, aeration, thatching, cultivation, fertilization, weed control, pest control, mulch and gravel, raking, and cleanup. Landscaping may include laying sod, planting trees and plants, paver placement, and/or hardscaping.
General Accountabilities
Maintain lawns and grassy areas to ensure health and seasonally appropriate height.
Operates powered lawn equipment, such as mowers, weed whackers, electric clippers, pruning saws, and/or edgers.
Ensure lawn edges have a neat and uniform appearance adjacent to sidewalks, curbs, concrete slabs, bed edges, buildings, posts, fences, trees, shrub areas, utility poles, tree wells, etc.
Prunes and trims trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
Maintains the ground equipment which may include repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
Reports any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or repairs to office.
Trim trees and shrubs to maintain plant health and appearance.
Ensure that trees are generally free of dead, damaged, or diseased material.
Ensure that plants and trees do not block or obstruct entrances, walkways, parking areas or lighting.
Report any major landscaping needs to the office by taking a time stamped photo and short description of work needed.
Ensure that grounds are neat and uniform in appearance and generally free from litter and or debris.
Periodically inspect surface drains located within the landscape areas, as necessary to keep drains functioning and remove any debris or vegetation that may accumulate at the inlet and prevent proper flow of water.
Ensure that trees and other vegetation do not pose any safety risk or hazard.
Upon completion of work, site is cleared of grass clippings, litter, broken limbs, debris, etc.
Ensure there is no damage to plants, surfaces and structures (report damage promptly).
Report any insects, pests, and diseases (time stamped photo to office).
Ensure weed barriers are maintained.
Cares for lawns by laying mulch, removing weeds, and trimming trees and plants.
Maintains flower beds by pruning, weeding and watering as needed.

Reports any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or repairs to office.

Job Qualifications
Experience: Some previous work-related experience preferred
Clean driving record for Lead positions.
This position demands physical aspects such as walking long distances, walking long distances with a backpack sprayer, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying supplies 50lbs. or more in all weather conditions.
