    Insurance Verification Specialist

    We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to verify patients' insurance coverage and ensure timely and accurate billing of medical services. The Insurance Verification Specialist will collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary information and resolve any issues related to insurance coverage. This in an in-office role, not remote.

    Responsibilities:
    - Review and verify patients' insurance information and coverage details with accuracy and confidentiality
    - Contact insurance companies via phone, email, or online portals to obtain verification and authorization of benefits
    - Explain coverage and benefits to patients, including copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses
    - Update and maintain patient records in the electronic health system with accurate insurance and demographic information
    - Communicate regularly with healthcare providers to obtain medical documentation required for insurance verification
    - Collaborate with billing and coding departments to ensure accurate billing and proper coding of services rendered
    - Investigate and resolve any insurance-related issues or discrepancies, including denied claims or pre-authorization requirements
    - Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, guidelines, and coding practices
    - Provide exceptional customer service to patients, insurance companies, and internal staff by addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner
    - Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the overall operations of the facility

    Requirements:
    - High school diploma or GED equivalent
    - Familiarity with medical terminology, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance regulations a plus
    - Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
    - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
    - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
    - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
    - Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
