Job Summary
We are looking for an energetic teaching assistant to join our team! You will be assisting the head teacher with implementing specialized curriculum to a single child at a given time. Instruction is given to children outside of traditional classroom settings, designed to best meet their needs.
You are passionate about learning and love working with children. With strong creative and organizational skills, you are able to connect with individual students and develop strong relationships with faculty to create an engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Implement specialized curriculum for a single student at a given time
Communicate with both the intervention specialist and the student's parent(s) to best meet needs of self and student regarding scheduling, curriculum implementation, student progress, etc.
Report IEP goals to intervention specialist regularly
Administer baseline assessments for IEP
Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress
Implement basic behavior strategies to ensure a successful school day
Qualifications:
Have earned an associate degree or higher or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours)
Ability to pass a state and federal background check
High-energy with a love of working with children
Organized and detail-oriented
Studies in education, social work, or psychology preferred
Experience with children diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred
