    Job Description

    DFW Security Protective Force is currently seeking ​a Finance - General Ledger Clerk to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our company.

    Responsibilities:

    • Obtain primary financial data for accounting records
    • Compute and record numerical data
    • Check the accuracy of business transactions
    • Perform data entry and administrative duties
    • · Produce monthly financials

    · Sales Tax accounting

    · Reconciliation of accounts

    · Payroll accounting

    · General journal entries

    · Product Costing/Pricing

    • Accurately and timely auditing , review and recording of, two payrolls per month, for approximately 400 (+) employees using payroll software (ADP). Maintain agency payroll registers and related records. Set up and maintain payroll taxes and filings.
    • Accurately audit Time Sheets for hours worked, overtime hours, PTO, and leave time. Accrue payroll for staff on leave and coordinate benefits, process pay increases, adjustments, garnishments, benefit elections and all payroll changes in compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Accurately and timely processing of Accounts Payable and journal entries as it relates to payroll.
    • Process 401k/457b payments, workers’ comp, unemployment and other reporting as assigned.
    • Provide excellent customer service by timely communicating with DFW staff and vendors about problems surrounding payroll and finance
    • basic bookkeeping procedures
    • Design and maintain complex Excel worksheets for payroll, benefits and related research items. Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Provide support to other accounting staff during absences.
    • Maintain desk procedures.
    • Responsible for preparing ad hoc reports as requested and assisting with preparation of necessary reports and schedules for various annual audits.
    • Participation in outreach activities to minority and underserved populations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
    • Degree in Finance
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Deadline and detail-oriented
