Job Summary
Mid-size law firm seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to join our team. Our firm represents a divers clientele in a variety of fields. We practice both plaintiff and defense work in the areas of personal injury, property & casualty insurance, toxic torts, medical malpractice and estate planning. In this role, you will provide support to our team of attorneys and assist in all phases of a case. You will perform client intake, client communications, legal research, draft documents, file documents, and trial prep. The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities
Prepare case-specific documents, including discovery and briefs
Ensure that case-related documents are well organized both online and paper format and available for review
Conduct legal research and investigation
Provide general administrative support
Communicate with clients, experts, doctors' offices and witnesses
Maintain and update documentation
Assist with discovery requests
Update and maintain the calendar
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years previous experience as a Paralegal
Certification or Associates Degree as a Paralegal is preferred
Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with document management experience
Excellent research skills
Comfortable Microsoft Office and case management software
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
