Job Description
The Inside Sales Representative at Direct Supply, Inc. is the primary point of contact for walk-in customers and those looking for technical support, information, and pricing on our products over the phone or via email. As a business-to-business supplier in the interior construction industry, we strive to create valuable relationships and exceed our customer's expectations. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop meaningful relationships with customer account base
- Provide sales support for outside sales and specification sales representatives
- Assist walk-in customers with product information and inquiries
- Follow up on customer leads, quotes, and requests promptly
- Pursue suggestive selling and add on sales opportunities
- Develop prospects and specific target accounts
- Provide customers with accurate product specifications, technical support, pricing, and availability information
- Provide customers with meaningful promotions, education opportunities, and value-added services
- Assist with the development of sales promotion and marketing campaigns
- Research customer questions and resolve issues quickly. If not possible, provide frequent updates
- Communicate with purchasing on upcoming projects for inventory levels/stock outages that could affect customer service levels
- Record call information and schedule outgoing calls and follow-ups in the CRM system
- Maintain current product and program knowledge – both distributed products and competitive product lines
- Coordinate with specifications and outside sales team to capitalize on sales opportunities
- Assist with strategic planning for the company's overall improvement, growth, and well-being.
- Perform additional duties as required and assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Aligns with Direct Supply's core values
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Able to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Prior experience with surface materials, cabinetry, and hardware is preferred but not required.
- Two years B2B sales and marketing experience required
- Must be able to take direction, be punctual and reliable
- Education: High School diploma or GED required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift and carry products or samples up to 50 pounds
- Safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standard
