This position has primarily responsible for the chemical and manufacturing processes used in the production of photoimagable thick dry film products. The position involves developing, improving and troubleshooting process-related production processes. The position also has responsibility for developing alternative production methods, improving costs and raw material options for existing processes to improve production performance and to improve product quality. This includes developing capital improvement programs and specifying equipment upgrades. Major Responsibilities: The Chemical Hot Melt Production Engineer position exists to ensure that day-to-day operations function smoothly in order to maintain sheet inventory and to obtain the maximum potential from the equipment and the workforce. As such, the candidate should be able to: * Check for major processing issue and develop corrective measures for problems. * Develop cost reduction options for existing processes. * Develop manufacturing equipment improvements for plant operation. * Develop plans for adding new equipment and prepare SOPs. * Train operators on the use of current and new equipment. * Have the ability to prepare plans for batch execution, including maintaining proper raw material needs, ensuring that they are ready when needed and notification to line personnel and Purchasing of their status. * Cost reductions for existing plant equipment running current processes. * Ability to envision new system requirements rather than just using what we have. * Ability to plan, construct, startup and operate new plant equipment when needed. * Other duties as required. Skills/Experience Needed: * Chemical Engineering background with Hot Melt coating experience. * Software: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word), AutoCAD, project management software, and others. * Excellent communication skills. * Current knowledge of equipment, systems, and sourcing.
