We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our company.

Our company has been established for over 50 years. We work with the same clients year over year, and have been able to create a family oriented environment in our office. We are small team of individuals who work in our casual office atmosphere. Turnover is incredibly low, which is why we are looking for the perfect long term fit for us.

You will work with clients to gather all necessary documents, complete income tax documents, file returns, and check financial statements for errors. Our ideal candidate is an Enrolled Agent (EA), but we will also consider applicants with bookkeeping experience if you are familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Preferred you have a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) to apply for this role.

Tax Preparer Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and file tax documents, such as income tax returns (70% individual, 30% business)
• Check documents for errors
• Meet with clients
• Provide support to clients in the case of an IRS audit
• Perform other clerical duties as necessary

Tax Preparer Requirements and Qualifications

• Prior work experience as a Tax Preparer
• Valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) (preferred)
• Enrolled License (EA) license (preferred)
• Bookkeeping experience
• Familiarity with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, Drake Tax Software, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Training available for familiarizing with required software knowledge.

Pay commensurate with experience and licensing.
