  • Responsibilities

    The overall objective of this position is to provide high quality craftsmanship when fabricating copper bus and similar conductive material using best in class installation techniques in order to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs.

    Demonstrate an advanced level of proficiency in executing workmanship in areas of fabricating copper bus bars or other metal materials to include pressing, stamping, bending and plating, forming objects for low to high voltage applications into enclosures, per drawing packages and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.  Properly store and separate bus bars according to size, thickness, or job number for ease during the Bus Assembly phase of projects.  Offer guidance and knowledge as a key individual contributor to others when working on complex projects or participating in cross‐functional teams.  Influence standards, processes, or technical development of junior bus fabricators through mentorship on proper techniques and execution.  Interpret and apply intermediate manufacturing knowledge and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on bussing parts, methods, sequencing, and advising various team members or departments of errors to technical drawings as a means of proactive quality measures.  Maintain a safe, clean and well‐organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices, and relying on pre‐established guidelines or directions from senior team members to perform tasks optimally.

    Required Skills

    Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.  Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: screw drivers, ratchet and sockets, crimpers, wiring cutters, tape measure, ban saw, air tools, and inspection mirror.  Active Listening — The ability to give full attention to when others speak and taking time to understand the points being made; asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.  Verbal & Written Communication Skills ‐ The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand and the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.  Time Management — The ability to manage one's own time and contribute to the effective use of others’.  Production and Processing ‐ Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.  Quality Focus – The ability to establish and exceed high standards of excellence in all elements of work by carefully following procedures and striving for accuracy.

    Math Skills – This position requires intermediate math skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)  Multi‐limb Coordination ‐ The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.     Required Experience

    High School Diploma/GED, required.

    Experience  2‐4 years of work experience fabricating copper bus, or similar materials, into electrical control equipment in a manufacturing facility, required. Knowledge, Skills
