DLN Barber Hair Academy is looking to hire a Barber Instructor to teach, mentor, motivate and coach our students in the skills needed to enter the hair care and grooming industry. In this role, you will be responsible for learning and adapting the course curriculum, teaching students the various techniques of a barber.

To ensure success as a Barber Instructor , you should have extensive experience working as a professional barber. You must also possess a natural talent for teaching, and good interpersonal skills. A top-class Barber Instructor takes a hands-on approach with their teaching, ensuring that every student gets the required knowledge they need to succeed in the barber industry.

Barber Instructor Responsibilities :

• Preparing students to pass the State Board exam and ensuring compliance with State Board rules.
• Serve as an expert in the field, providing instruction and guidance to students on proper techniques, safety procedures, and industry trends.
• Develop and implement curriculum for assigned courses, including lesson plans, assignments, and exams in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Maintain a positive learning environment by demonstrating enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism at all times.
• Motivate students to reach their full potential by setting high standards and providing constructive feedback.
• Evaluate student progress and provide grades and evaluations in a timely manner.
• Keep abreast of new developments in the field by attending workshops, conferences, and trade shows, and reading professional journals.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and work area at all times.
• Adhere to all safety regulations when handling equipment and chemicals.
• Model proper grooming and hygiene habits for students.
• Assist in the recruitment of new students by participating in open houses and other events.
• Serve on departmental committees as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Barber Instructor Requirements :

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a barber
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid barber instructor license
• Ability to pass a background check
• Excellent communication, customer service, and time-management skills
• Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency

Barber Certifications:

• Instructor Barber License
• Master Hair Care License
• Certification must be from an accredited organization
