Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced application developer with proficiency in VBA, SQL queries, Excel automation, and a strong understanding of analytical development standards to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in improving our analytical capabilities, optimizing processes, and actively contributing to the development and maintenance of business applications. Your deep understanding of analytical development standards will ensure the delivery of high-quality, data-driven solutions that support our goals related to insurance and financial information.
Major Functions/Responsibilities :
· VBA Coding and Excel Automation
o Develop, enhance, and maintain VBA macros to automate tasks and streamline processes within Excel.
o Create custom functions, scripts, and tools to improve data manipulation, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
o Troubleshoot and debug VBA code to ensure accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance.
· Database Development and Management
o Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases to efficiently store, organize, and retrieve data.
o Create user-friendly interfaces, forms, and reports for data entry, analysis, and reporting purposes.
o Implement data validation rules and ensure data integrity within the SQL databases.
· Participate in the Agile process including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, iteration review and retrospectives.
· Collaborate with other developers, product owners, business partners and customers to solve problems and design solutions.
· Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code by using software development best practices.
· Perform security checks on applications and databases to ensure a secure and stable environment.
· Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
· Participate in meetings, workshops, and discussions to contribute insights and expertise.
Requirements/Skills :
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
· Proven experience in VBA coding, Excel automation, and advanced formula development.
· A deep understanding of Excel functions, formulas, and features is crucial for developing advanced Excel-based solutions.
· Proficiency in designing and maintaining SQL databases, including creating queries and forms.
· Understanding application security principles and security best practices.
· Experience with Tableau is a plus.
