    Bookkeeping Manager 

    About Us:   DMGgo is a rapidly expanding startup in our third year of operation that provides back-office and operational support to partners in the last mile logistics industry across North America. We remove the time-consuming and tedious tasks from our Owner-Partners to give them back time to make conscious and productive decisions for their businesses. 

     

    Who we are looking for:   Can adapt to an ever-changing partner base, is able to lead, train, and develop team members. Creative and solution-minded to solve problems that may arise without prior precedent by thinking outside the box. A strong leader who is passionate and driven about building relationships with both team members and our partners while thriving in a fast-paced environment. A Bookkeeping Manager with 2-5 years of experience is preferred that has knowledge and history working for a bookkeeping or accounting firm. We expect our Bookkeeping Manager to play an integral role in expanding DMGgo’s service offerings, specifically in our outsourced bookkeeping services. 

     

    Where:  

    This position will be mostly remote, but training and some meetings will require days in the office in Fort Worth, TX.  

     

    Your team:  

    You will be managing the Accounting Services Team and will report to the Controller, who reports to the President of DMGgo.  

     

    Responsibilities of the Position  

    • Develop and maintain effective and standard bookkeeping policies and procedures so that all partners are receiving the same level of service and staff are following the same methodology 

    • Communicate with owner-partners to understand requirements and expectations, clarify processes, and provide regular updates regarding status of books and other outstanding items 

    • Serve as a consultative resource to our owner-partners with ability to read and analyze financial statements and display understanding of basic tax concepts 

    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all client deliverables and clarifications 

    • Facilitate communication between the bookkeeping and financial planning & analysis sub-teams, ensuring consistency among communication and reports 

    • Build relationships with other members of management to identify, develop, and establish inter-department synergies 

    • Train and develop the technical skills of direct reports by teaching them more advanced bookkeeping and accounting concepts, assisting with advanced QuickBooks Online/Xero features and problem solving 

    • Monitor the performance of the team and provide mentoring and coaching via regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings and leveraging client feedback for employee success. 

    • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

     

    Qualifications 

    • Must have 2 or more years of work experience at an accounting firm or as a management accountant, bookkeeper, cost accountant or similar 

    • Must possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, and time management skills 

    • Experience with Excel, QuickBooks, Xero, and basic accounting systems 

    • Must be well-versed in small business accounting processes 

    • Must have ability to review small business financial reports and identify errors 

    • Experience correcting problems in a QuickBooks and/or Xero file
