DMR Enterprises is a leading residential land developer in the mid-Atlantic, with particular focus in Maryland. We have a varied portfolio of over 40 current and future deals that together make us well positioned for long-term growth. Each member of our small and energetic team has direct responsibility for the success of the company.
We are looking to add a new full-time position to our team that will fill an important dual role. Our Paralegal and Administrative Assistant will report to the Vice President of Operations, who is a lawyer, on all legal and land development matters, plus a little more. We place an emphasis on maintaining a positive attitude, acting with urgency, and having honest discussions about what will deliver the best results for the company. We are excited to welcome this new member to our team.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Preparing and revising real estate contracts, amendments, and other legal documents
- Drafting and filing corporate documents, including articles of incorporation/organization, resolutions, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.
- Drafting correspondence with state and local municipalities regarding subdivision and land development approvals
- Tracking important contractual deadlines
- Interfacing with outside counsel on various matters
- Managing document templates
- Electronically maintaining and organizing corporate files and documents
- Performing other administrative duties as needed
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- Paralegal certificate and at least 3 years of experience
- Strong listening and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Dependability, reliability, and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in solving problems individually and collaboratively
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of company organization structure including executives and board members
- Experience with real estate contracts, property subdivision applications, and settlement transactions
- Experience using online search tools, databases, and portals
- Strong experience drafting and redlining changes to documents using Word and Adobe
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, DocuSign
- Registration as a notary public is a plus
