JOB DESCRIPTION
DMS is seeking an ARMORER/ORDNANCE-BASED MAINTENANCE AND LOGISTICS SUPPORT TECHNICIAN II (OBMLS TECH II). The OBMLS Tech II will be supporting classroom and field laboratory instruction for U.S. Navy high-risk training evolutions at the Navy Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) Detachment in San Diego, CA. They perform training support duties associated with the delivery of weapons-based Anti-terrorism, Navy Security Force training to include:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
Knowledge of night vision, lasers, weapons, and weapon sight technologies, capabilities, and weaknesses.
Experience operating and maintaining various military small arms and weapons-based training adjuncts, including:
Training Unique Equipment (TUE)
Ability to troubleshoot complex malfunctions.
Skill in the use of hand tools, test equipment, and precision measuring equipment.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, and diagrams.
Basic knowledge of computer operations is required for inventory control and weapon maintenance record keeping.
Must be capable of providing on-the-job training within his/her area of expertise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a US Citizen.
Must have completed a U. S. military armorer's course, preferred are:
Must possess a minimum of three (3) years' experience with preventative/corrective small arms weapons maintenance and at least two (2) years' experience in an ammunition/weapons management environment.
Must obtain a suitable evaluation for mandatory medical, psychological, and drug screenings.
