    JOB DESCRIPTION

    DMS is seeking an EDITOR/PROPOSAL WRITER to join our corporate team. The candidate must be able to write and edit for multiple purposes to include marketing materials, publications and grants. He/she will be responsible for reviewing all DMS marketing materials for effective and succinct communication as well as overseeing and contributing to the quality of our proposals and grants submitted.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop storyboards, scripts, content outlines
    • Determine proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; study requests for proposal (RFPs); attending strategy meetings.
    • Read and review all proposal requests; develop technical and management strategies to respond succinctly to proposal requirements
    • Conduct research if needed on RFP technical/functional areas to gain better understanding of areas to be addressed and responded to
    • Determine proposal requirements and coordinates with other departments for proposal input
    • Ensure writing is clear, compelling, and compliant with proposal criteria and instructions
    • Lead editorial review of all content prior to submission

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and SharePoint
    • Minimum of five years of prior experience editing and preparing written proposals and marketing materials
    • Excellent technical writing and research skills; must be good at storytelling
    • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Must be able to work independently and take initiative to solve problems and complete tasks as they arise
    • Prior knowledge of U.S. Government contracting process is preferred but not required
    • Experience in a learning environment strongly preferred

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing Communication or English Literature from an accredited university.
