Extrusion Line Operator -- Full-Time
DOMO Engineering Plastics US, LLC is currently seeking Extrusion Line Operators and Blenders for our Overnight (7pm - 7am) shift.
The Blender/Line Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the successful production of finished materials. This includes following all safety policies and protocols, operating machines and equipment at optimal performance levels, and performing minor maintenance tasks. By doing so, they contribute to worksite safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Comprehend and adhere to all DOMO Company policies and procedures.
· Understand and comply with DOMO safety policies and procedures, prioritizing the prevention of injuries to oneself and others.
· Follow safe working practices and promptly report any accidents, hazards, near misses, or property damage. Complete all required paperwork for oneself and colleagues.
· Ensure that the production floor and common areas are clean and prepared for the next shift by sweeping, cleaning, wiping down, and disposing of garbage, among other tasks.
· Develop the skills and knowledge necessary to consistently produce high-quality products and minimize errors.
· Produce finished goods that meet or exceed customer requirements and specifications. Strive for optimal cycle times to maximize efficiency.
· Record all production counts, including rejects, regrinds, scrap material, and good product.
· Complete all necessary paperwork related to production passport forms, including documenting process deviations resulting from process changes.
· Acquire the skills and knowledge to efficiently operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on DOMO's manufacturing equipment.
· Gain proficiency in machine operations, including MMI (Man-Machine Interface), CM (Calculation of Maximum Output), stranding, pelletizing, classifying, and pack-out.
· Learn to keep machines running smoothly through material replenishments and by managing support equipment, setting feeder rates, cleaning feeders, operating super sacks, and handling vacuum pots, among other duties.
· Master the proper procedures for shutting down machines.
· Learn to perform product changeovers as instructed by shop floor documents and verbal directions.
· Demonstrate a sense of urgency in taking ownership of line performance, offering assistance to colleagues, and adapting to changes in customer orders.
· Comply with the Time & Attendance Policy by reporting to work punctually, minimizing unplanned absences and early departures, and being available for mandatory overtime.
· Foster effective communication with all team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Education
· Required: High School diploma or equivalent
· Preferred: Completion of a 2-year technical school program or college certification
Experience
· Required: 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
· Preferred: Experience in plastics extrusion/molding
Required Skills
· Willingness to work mandatory weekend overtime when necessary
· Basic math skills
· Ability to work effectively in a team
· Familiarity with machine operations
· Proficiency in written and spoken English (knowledge of Spanish is a plus)
