Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an Experienced Heavy Haul Dispatch Coordinator with a proven track record in the freight transportation industry. This role demands a high level of expertise in managing complex logistics and transportation challenges, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of oversized and specialized loads.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the dispatch operations for heavy haul transportation, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
Utilize advanced routing knowledge to optimize load movements, considering factors such as permit requirements, road restrictions, and customer deadlines.
Maintain constant communication with drivers, ensuring they have the support and information needed for successful deliveries.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing timely updates and resolving any issues that arise during the transport process.
Work closely with the safety department to ensure all operations meet the highest safety standards.
Analyze operational data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Mentor and train junior dispatch staff, sharing expertise to enhance team performance.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatch, specifically within the heavy haul sector of the freight transportation industry.
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, permit processes, and load securing techniques for oversized and overweight freight.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and logistical planning skills.
Strong leadership qualities and experience managing a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency in using transportation management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, DAT, TruckStop.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
