POSITION SUMMARY The Draftsman supports Engineering, Production, and Customer Service by preparing and maintaining technical and production drawings, generating project take-offs and assisting with special projects as directed. This role ensures accurate, organized documentation and facilitates smooth communication between departments to support efficient project execution.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Engineering and Production teams by creating production, technical, and documentation drawings for various components and assemblies.
Collaborate with the Customer Service Department to generate project take‑offs and drawings required by the sales team.
Analyze blueprint drawings, product layouts, and specifications, ensuring all technical and installation requirements are accurately documented.
Calculate and verify quantities of required products, collaborating with Sales to ensure accurate and timely quotations.
Produce technical drawings for event pole projects.
Develop CAD‑based and Bluebeam‑based technical drawings, as well as standardized company templates, symbols, title blocks, and related documentation to support consistent drafting and project workflows.
Assist with special projects or assignments as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience
Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
2-4 years of experience in lighting or related industries (customer service, inside sales, or similar).
Architectural lighting industry experience is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficient with PC platforms and software: Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
Required: Adobe or Bluebeam Revu.
Preferred (not required): SAP, AGI, AutoCAD, Photometric ToolBox,
Quick learner with strong organizational skills.
Communication & Teamwork
Professional, self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and team-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize urgent requests, and follow up effectively.
Fluent in English.
Energetic, people-oriented, tenacious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Compensation Pay will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and education, as this role is open to a range of skill levels.
