NAPP division comprises two paper mills and fifteen packaging plants primarily located along the eastern corridor of the US. NAPP division is headquartered in Atlanta, GA. We are currently working to transform from a privately owned, largely plant-based independent management culture to a more centrally led division of a publicly traded global company. We have significant transformation efforts underway particularly in the areas of IT (as we look to harmonize systems) and Finance (moving transactional work to shared services). Long term macro indicators in paper packaging markets are positive driven by the rise of E-commerce and sustainability initiatives and we recently opened a new state-of-the-art greenfield packaging facility in Indiana to capitalize on the growth in the markets we serve. The Position: DS Smith NAPP Division is seeking to fill the role of Finance Business Partner. This individual will be a finance professional who works well in a collaborative, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. The successful candidate will contribute to our profitable growth by developing efficient operating processes and driving a culture of financial accountability for our Cambridge, MD Greencoat facility. S/he will possess a positive attitude, be hard-working and driven with a focus on results, accountability and driving improvement and change. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in manufacturing finance and strong leadership and teamwork skills combined with a track record of process improvement. This position is based in our Cambridge, MD production facility and will report to the Head of Finance, Specialty Business Unit. Key Responsibilities: · Prepare detailed monthly financial forecast for P&L, balance sheet and cash flow · Prepare annual operating budget; Ensure BU leadership team has sufficient ownership and understanding of required performance, key assumptions and risks/opportunities · Prepare reporting, bridges, and analysis of monthly financial and operating results · Track monthly operating KPI's (quality, service, waste) and verify accuracy of shop floor data · Thoroughly explain key variances from budget, forecast and prior year to leadership team · Develop, monitor, and execute specific initiatives to optimize working capital with particular focus on inventory and past due receivables · Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within the finance function · Manage detailed portfolio of productivity projects to improve site level operating efficiency and financial performance · Oversee capital planning, capital forecasting and business case development for key investments · Monitor and implement site internal controls as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguarding of company assets, and risk identification · Monitor, assess, and recommend improvements in product costs by validating material, labor, and overhead standards · Ensure inventory is properly valued and controlled by maintaining strong reconciliation and cycle count processes · Partner with Finance Resource Center to ensure a smooth monthly closing process with timely and accurate financial results · Assist with Ad Hoc requests as needed The Candidate: · Four-year bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Economics · MBA or CMA designation preferred · 5+ years of related finance experience in a manufacturing organization · Proactive and self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects under limited supervision · Ability to distill complex financial topics down to easily understood and actionable recommendations to improve business performance .
