    DS2 is seeking curious minds with a passion for software development to collaborate with full-time software engineers through a paid internship. Through our Software Engineering Internship, you will help build software, solve problems, and develop innovative solutions in support of our warfighter.     What You Can Expect

    This summer internship will offer on-the-job experience and training, taking the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and utilizing them in a professional environment. You can expect to work on software development, design, testing and quality assurance initiatives while gaining experience working alongside industry professionals, learning along the way!

    You will be guided through the program by a mentor and a coordinator with clear priorities and many check-in opportunities to make sure you are reaching your goals. This program can be tailored to meet the needs of any student whether you are looking for college credit or just work experience. It is the responsibility of the student to consult and coordinate with their academic advisor if college credit is desired for the internship.

    In addition to learning from industry professionals and working on meaningful products there will be many opportunities for interns to participate in DS2 activities, events, and perks such as Tech Talk Lunches, beach clean ups, DS2 sponsored events and more!

    This position reports to DS2 headquarters in Niceville, FL. Remote internship opportunities are not available at this time.

    Who We Are Looking For

    We are looking for students who are currently enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor's degree program with a major in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic, capable, and interested in software development and should have a foundation in programming concepts with knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Applicants should have exceptional problem solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills. Experience with one of our commonly used languages which include C#, C++, Java, or Python is desired. Candidate must be a US Citizen due to security constraints.

    DS2 is a Small Business providing a full spectrum of life-cycle software engineering, application development, and IT management solutions to DoD, federal and commercial clients. Utilizing agile development procedures, DS2 specializes in modeling and simulation; LVC training; and geospatial, ATAK, and mission planning solutions in support of the warfighter. _
