AHRC NYC is hosting a HIRING EVENT with ON-THE-SPOT JOB OFFERS for Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with NYS driver's license for our Bronx Adult Day Programs.

ALL candidates MUST be able and willing to drive to provide transportation for pick-ups and drop-offs, in addition to supporting our Day Program participants.

_ DATE & TIME_: THURSDAY MAY 1ST from 10AM-1PM

_ LOCATION_ : Bronx 10466.... Recruiter will provide specific address for qualified candidates.

PAY RATE : $17-$19.10 per hour (depending on driving status ). Hire-in rate is $17 per hour, increases to $18 after six months if in good standing and additional $2000 annual bonus upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive driving class.

** SCHEDULE** : Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (35 hours per week)

Main Responsibilities:

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, and the team to develop and implement Person-Centered plans that focus on strengths, preferences, and goals.
• Transport participants to and from their residences, as well as to appointments, social outings, and other scheduled activities.
• Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.

Qualifications

• Tri-State or NYS Drivers License for more than one year in good standing,
• Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Day Hab. experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
