About the Role
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team supporting a woman with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities in Newtown Square, PA.
The individual is non-verbal and communicates primarily through gestures, facial expressions, and sounds. She enjoys music, calm surroundings, and thrives on predictable routines. She requires total assistance with personal care, feeding, mobility, and all daily living activities.
The ideal DSP is patient, observant, dependable, and confident providing hands-on care for individuals with significant support needs. This role requires consistency, empathy, and an understanding of non-verbal communication.

Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene.
Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning, including safe use of adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchair).
Implement individualized behavioral, medical, and safety plans with fidelity.
Observe and respond appropriately to non-verbal communication and behavioral cues.
Maintain a structured and supportive environment to promote comfort and stability.
Encourage engagement in music, sensory, and recreational activities that the individual enjoys.
Accurately document daily care, behaviors, and observations.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare providers, and team members.
Ensure a safe and respectful home environment at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or similar role supporting individuals with significant intellectual or developmental disabilities.
High school diploma or GED (required).
Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive personal care and behavioral support.
Skilled at recognizing and interpreting non-verbal communication.
Dependable, compassionate, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Must successfully complete background checks, drug screening, and all required trainings (CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Fire Safety, etc.).
Available Shifts
We are hiring for all shifts to maintain 24/7 coverage:
Weekdays: 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts available
Weekends: 12-hour shifts required
Day, evening, and overnight positions are available.
