    SUMMARY:  Assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  REQUIRES A TWO YEAR DEGREE IN HUMAN RESOURCE AND TWO TO THREE YEARS RELATED EXPERIENCE. REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN A HIGH DEGREE OF CONFIDENTIALITY.

    OTHER SKILLS ANDN ABILITIES:  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point or other window based software.  Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines including computer and the job related software, a keyboard, calculator, telephone, fax, photocopier, postage meter, etc.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with recruitment.  Place employee recruiting ads in newspapers or on line.  Evaluates candidates by reviewing resumes and applications, conducts interviews with management, conducts reference checks, extends offers of employment, and arranges drug screening.  Once new employee is hired, conducts new employee orientation, helps new employees completed required paperwork, and processes them for payroll and benefits administration.

    Administers the benefits programs such as:  healthcare, health savings account, dental and vision, life insurance, long-term disability, 401(k), and Paid Time Off (PTO) plans.  Communicates benefit information to employees, enrolls employees and processes changes to their status, and maintain employee benefit files.  Coordinates annual open enrollment process.  Processes employee terminations.  Ensures compliance with government regulations and reporting requirements covering benefits areas.

    Assist with updating employee handbook, policies, procedures, and human resource forms.

    Assists management with worker’s compensation ad OSHA compliance programs.  Serve as the safety coordinator to address safety and health incidents.  Obtains the “first report of injury”, reviews for thoroughness, and reports the incident to company’s worker’s compensation insurance carrier.  Prepares annual OSHA summary postings.

    Administer first aid or take employee to hospital when required.

    Maintains confidentiality of all Human Resource related records, including separate file systems for personnel records, benefit records, I-9 forms, payroll records, OSHA/workers compensation related records, records related to complaint investigations and employee performance.
