  • Responsibilities

    Job purpose

    Provide pre and post technical sales support for customers and regional sales. Use combined technical knowledge and sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of emission monitoring systems to ensure successful purchase, delivery, and service of all products. Act as liaison to field service, sales, technical, production, and customer support staff.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Utilize knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances and consistently exercise discretion and judgement to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Provides pre-sales support to sales team including determining solutions to proposed customer applications, visiting customer’s sites with sales as requested, and creating sales tools to help simplify the selection and qualification process.
    • Working with sales provides cost-price calculations and executes quote or proposal for Emission Monitoring Systems, providing reports to management as required.
    • Reviews customer technical and commercial specifications and develops quotations/proposals based on customer requirements.
    • Works closely with customers and representatives and acts as the technical resource for those entities and the company.
    • Responsible for review of customer’s purchase orders against proposal and timely generation of sales order acknowledgements and required documentation for order processing and quality control. Works with sales team, engineering, operations, and/or customer to resolve discrepancies in purchase order against proposal/requirements.
    • Writes supplemental technical documentation (e.g., certificates, instruction manuals, field service bulletins, etc.) for specific customer issues or product solutions, as required.
    • Project team member for large projects or as assigned.
    • Manage quality issues and customer complaints to a proper and timely conclusion, providing weekly reports to management. Escalates issue management to supervisor and responsible sales team member.
    • Complies with company policies and work instructions related to documenting customer communications and activities in CRM system.
    • Supports tradeshow efforts, including but not limited to preparation of and participation in events and technical presentations.
    • Builds and delivers training as needed for customers, end users, and internal employees. Educates and trains sales team on new product releases, enhancements to current products, and continuing education.
    • Contribute with review and data on technical datasheets and product literature.
    • Attend and be pro-active part of assigned industry technical committees, tracking industry trends and regulatory changes.

    **Qualifications
    **

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Natural Sciences combined with a minimum of 4 year experience in technical consulting, sales, customer service, product development, or business development; or a 2-year technical degree combined with a minimum of 5 years experience in a technical service role.

    • Emission Monitoring or Air Pollution Control Systems experience; preferred
    • Knowledge of EPA air emissions test methodology; preferred
    • Knowledge of National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS); preferred
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to work self-sufficiently, in global environment in constant change
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to track and respond to multiple priorities
    • Ability to build relationships with customers quickly
    • Foreign language skills helpful; Spanish preferred
    • Current professional certifications, as needed

    Work & Physical conditions

    This position may require employee to lift, handle, and move product or equipment; and climb stairs and ladders to high and possibly remote locations where product may be installed, and temperature and weather may be harsh.

    Domestic and international travel is required, sometimes up to 25% of the work week, not always conforming to the traditional U.S. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm work day.
