    About this Role: The DV Case Manager is responsible for providing individualized support to clients, both one-on-one and in group settings, to help them achieve self-sufficiency and heal from the effects of domestic violence. The position involves coordinating and overseeing the case management needs of shelter and Lifeline clients, ensuring housing stability, and promoting long-term self-sufficiency. Key responsibilities include assessing clients’ immediate needs, coordinating services, making referrals, monitoring progress, and advocating for clients to access necessary resources. The role also requires fostering a cooperative living environment, utilizing trauma-informed practices and conflict resolution strategies. Additionally, the position involves assisting clients with goal setting, crisis intervention, and facilitating access to services to ensure their success in both the shelter and Lifeline programs.

    Schedule: Monday-Friday (shifts vary)

    JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Safety and Security

    · Ensure a safe and healthy environment that foster independence, self-determination, and mental

    wellbeing.

    · Implement effective conflict resolution strategies among clients to ensure a

    cooperative and harmonious communal living environment for all clients.

    Client Services

    · Provide case management services to clients during their stay in shelter and Lifeline program

    · Develop and implement individualized services plans to promote self-sufficiency and safety.

    · Assist clients with enrolling in mainstream benefits, obtaining ID documents, securing childcare and accessing other necessary resources.

    · Assist clients with obtaining employment and other personal goals as needed.

    · Provide crisis intervention counseling and domestic violence education to clients

    · Assist clients with applying for financial assistance through our Emergency Services funds or the Gifts for Hope program.

    · Serve as a liaison with local social service agencies including Adult Protective Services (APS), the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), local schools, and other community resources.

    · Conduct comprehensive assessment to identify the needs and strengths of seniors and or

    individuals with disabilities affected by domestic violence. Provide accurate information on

    the Lifeline program and guidelines.

    · Facilitate the transition of clients to our offsite Lifeline apartments, ensuring a smooth and

    supportive relocation process.

    · Provide conflict and communication strategies to clients as it relates to domestic violence.

    · Participate in speaking engagements (including 40 Hour training) and other community

    education forums as needed.

    · Perform other duties as assigned.

    · Successfully complete 40 hours of ICADV domestic violence training; remain current in the

    Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Experience Required: · 3-5 years of experience working with youth, domestic violence survivors, or community education programs. · Experience in outreach, program coordination, or public speaking is preferred. · Strong organizational, project management, and workflow skills. · Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Location: This position is based in the south suburban Chicago area, providing convenient access to schools and community partners within the region.
