Currently, not one US state complies with international law and standards on the use of lethal force used by police. Law enforcement officers sometimes kill or seriously injure people during arrests, and are often quick to use force in response to peaceful protests. All too often, those officers who use force unlawfully are not brought to justice.

Amnesty International is a grassroots advocacy organization that helps fight human rights abuses worldwide. DVCanvass is a face-to-face fundraising agency working on behalf of Amnesty International. We go door-to-door connecting people in our communities with the charitable causes they care about. Together, we are campaigning for Congress to set a new standard for justice, policing, and safety in the United States.

Any candidates hired will be eligible for a $300 sign-on bonus after their first week of being on staff, and an additional $500 retention bonus after 30 days of being on staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Going door-to-door in the community to engage with and persuade prospective, past, and current donors to give monthly donations to nonprofit clients.
• Use of a tablet to navigate a map and for the donor transaction process.
• Friendly, positive, accurate, and professional interactions with the public as an ambassador for DVCanvass & nonprofit clients.
• Attendance of appropriate trainings as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be willing/able to go door-to-door fundraising, up and down stairs/hills, either autonomously or with a reasonable accommodation all year round.
