    Health Careers Opportunity Program – Evaluator

    D’Youville University and the School of Health Professions have been awarded a Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) granted by the Health Resources and Services Administration. The D’Youville University Health Careers Opportunity Program (DYU HCOP) will assist individuals from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds in the Buffalo and rural Western New York region to enter and graduate from a health professions program. DYU HCOP will improve recruitment, matriculation, retention, and graduation rates through enrichment programs that address the academic and social needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. It will provide opportunities to HCOP students for community-based experiential health profession training, emphasizing experiences in underserved communities. The part-time Evaluator will be responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of the evaluation of the DYU HCOP project.

    Qualifications:

    The internal evaluator coordinates and executes HCOP evaluation to track progress toward program goals, adjust programming, and communicate the program’s impact. Master’s degree, PhD preferred, in education, data analytics, or a related field. Minimum of three years of experience in program evaluation and/or research. Data collection, storage, organization, and analysis (e.g., in Excel, SPSS, SAS, or other analysis tools) experience is required.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Carry out the activities associated with evaluating the impact of HCOP programming
    • Work closely with HCOP staff and external evaluator to assess and understand evaluation goals and activities; identify priority areas for evaluation activities that align with HCOP program goals
    • Develop and document clear and consistent evaluation processes
    • Clearly and consistently track all evaluation activities and processes; enter and organize collected data while protecting confidential information
    • Analyze collected data, identifying trends and outcomes to illustrate program impact
    • Write evaluation reports to be shared both internally and externally
