The Daily Wire is searching for a talented Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science & Analytics team in Nashville, Tennessee!

In this highly-visible role, the Data Scientist will work cross-functionally alongside Daily Wire's Product, Engineering, and Design teams to analyze on-platform data, automate reporting, visualize metrics and targets, and perform data deep-dives in order to surface insights that will inform and optimize the Daily Wire's user growth strategy. As a critical member of a dynamic team, this position will offer plenty of opportunities to land meaningful business impact and help shape both the cultural and journalistic landscapes of the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Function as the key expert in all that pertains to the growth accounting funnel, from acquisition to retention, and leading deep audience research and segmentation analyses across platforms
• Develop methods to improve the data collection, storage, visualization, and processing using machine-learning and data science
• Work closely with the Engineering teams to guarantee the consistency and validity of metrics across multiple products and prototypes
• Drive weekly metrics reports, and quarterly metrics presentations, with design and leadership teams
• Perform analyses on large sets of data to extract impactful insights that will help the team and senior leadership understand the state of user growth
• Drive the generation of insights from raw, unstructured data to improve existing features and explore future directions
• Be an advocate for data-informed decision making, making recommendations about the impacts of various user growth efforts and evangelizing a data culture across the company
• Perform other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Nashville, TN -based position (working remotely is not an option)
• Degree or 2+ years of work experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar quantitative fields
• Possess a deep understanding of numbers, a strong business sense for business performance drivers, and the skill to craft compelling and clear narratives using those data and insights
• Experience in crafting, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting experiments and investigations
• Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at defensible answers using available data
• Experience developing data science pipelines, toolchains, and workflows in Python or R
• Strong programming skills and experience with a scripting language for data processing and development (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, Julia, Rust, or Scala)
• 2+ years of proven experience building data science driven solutions to solve business problems
• Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic and diverse environment in tackling loosely-defined challenges, working both independently and as part of a cross-functional analytics and strategy team
• G-suite proficiency
