The Daily Wire is looking for a creative Assistant Video Editor (Social Media) to join our Marketing team in Nashville, Tennessee! The Assistant Video Editor is responsible for the creation of engaging and monetizable video content for the social media department. The Assistant Video Editor will use his or her skills in editing, combined with an intuition for successful viral social content, to produce a high volume of content against fast-paced deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Social Media Video Manager and Platform Managers to establish and meet video quotas
• Monitor news cycles and trending topics / personalities to source clips and identify video concepts
• Utilize various software tools to pull video clips in the highest quality possible
• Caption, title, and distribute videos effectively to maximize their reach and engagement
• Identify and create highlights from debates, press conferences, and news hits with video performance in mind
• Repurpose existing video content for different social platforms (duration, b-roll, etc)
• Reformat video files for different social platforms (IGTV, Snapchat, Twitter, etc)
• Create assembly edits, string-outs, and finishing edits with precision on shorter turnaround videos
• Upload videos to social media channels and curate metadata in accordance with best practices
• Convert and compress media for post-production workflow
• Prepare thumbnails for videos

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Nashville-based
• Immersion in and full understanding of social media
• 2+ years previous experience in comparable social media video position
• Interest in and/or familiarity with the political and editorial news landscapes
• Strong instincts for successful social media content and engagement
• Ability to produce a high volume of content quickly that also meets production and social media standards for quality
• Ability to spot and capitalize on social media trends
• Understanding of all social media video platforms and processes
• Strong writing skills
• Excellent proof-reading skills
• Detail oriented  
• Aptitude for visual composition, lighting, and style
• Discernment between highly produced projects and “quick and dirty” viral videos
• Prioritization and proactivity
• Professional photography and photo-editing skills a plus
• Video production experience required
• Premiere Pro CC
• After Effects CC
• Photoshop CC
• Video camera systems

REPORTS TO: Director of Social Media START DATE: Immediate EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time; Non-Exempt COMPENSATION: $20-$22; Dependent upon experience BENEFITS: Health insurance options (medical through Anthem; dental and vision through Guardian); Paid Time Off; 401k (5% match)
