The Daily Wire is looking for a Playback Operator & Technical Assistant to join our Production team in Nashville, Tennessee!

The Playback Operator & Technical Assistant will operate media content and digital assets for Daily Wire shows as well as provide support to the Production team with a variety of tasks to help ensure shows run as smoothly as possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for accurately cueing and playing video elements on set for synchronized performance or reactions of on-camera Talent
• Work closely with and support the Director and Producer in the execution of playback during live and prerecorded broadcasts
• Quality check for correct settings and format as well as relevant and accurate media selection
• Support Producers in creating rundowns, segment timings, schedule, and logistics
• Support Producers in creating, planning, and finalizing show assets and finishing deliverables
• Support technical crew by assisting with lighting setup and operation, camera setup and operation, video switcher setup and operation, and other technical tasks as necessary
• Assist Technicians and Engineers in testing and researching new and alternate gear and software for production
• Assist Production team on the set of various video projects with set management tasks including but not limited to: preparing show material, props, and equipment for shoots
• Pull and clip media for playback on podcasts as needed
• Create and maintain appropriate logs and labels for removable media and reoccurring media
• Offer basic technical production support on set including but not limited to: running teleprompter, focusing cameras, and printing and delivering documents and forms for shoots
• Assist with coordination of production equipment rentals
• Assist technical crew with set prep for shoots
• Assist with Talent wrangling and show guests as needed
• Travel as needed to assist Talent and production crew on the road
• Manage basic repairs and maintenance projects in studio and/or control room
• Assist in organizing and maintaining cleanliness of sets
• Complete and submit daily project logs in accordance with Daily Wire Project Log Policy
• Perform other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Nashville, TN -based position (working remotely is not an option)
• Previous professional Production experience in a similar role
• Must have a working knowledge of digital playback systems including but not limited to: Tria, QLab, Media Express, and ProVideoPlayer
• Familiarity with Sony FX series cameras, Aputure lighting, and Sachtler tripod systems
• Demonstrate success in project planning, organization skills, and development of a variety of media products (for both live and prerecorded applications)
• Ability to execute cleanly on-air in a high-stress and rapidly changing environment
• Solutions-based and creative in solving problems using state of the art technology and equipment
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work on deadline
• Ability to work well in a production team environment including but not limited to working with Talent, Producers, and Directors
• Ability to communicate quickly and effectively
• Interest in production and commitment to always achieving the best possible product
• Highly self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude
• Strong sense of professionalism
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills including listening, verbal, and non-verbal communication
• An openness to and great attitude about receiving feedback
• Comfortable with standing, walking, bending, twisting and/or stooping, kneeling and/or squatting, climbing stairs, lifting, reaching and/or lifting overhead, grabbing with hands, pushing and pulling (required on a regular basis)
• Flexibility to travel to remote broadcast sites as needed
• G-suite proficiency

START DATE: Immediate

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time; Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: $21-$24/hour
