    Daland Swim School is a family-owned business, founded by Ingrid Daland who, after 15 years of teaching and coaching in Westlake Village, opened its doors in 1987. Since then the school has taught over 100,000 students to swim. We're looking for fun and energetic individuals to join our team!

    Lifeguards ensure the adequate supervision of our pools by monitoring the safety of our swimmers, completing fault reports and undertaking testing of pool water to ensure correct water balances are maintained.

    • Must be available to work weekday, morning shifts *

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Supervising swimming activities at our aquatics facility and ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.

    Warning swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforcing pool regulations and water safety policies.

    Administering first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administering CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.

    Evaluating conditions for safety and initiating aquatics emergency action plan as required.

    Inspecting pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they’re safe and usable.

    Assisting with chlorine residual water tests, adding chemicals to pool water as directed and maintaining testing records.

    Education/Experience: Must be 16 years or older. Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, and be able to tread water steadily for at least 2 minutes. Heightened awareness and the ability to spot accidents before they happen is key!

    Certificates and Licenses: CPR/First Aid certification required. We provide all needed training and offer the required certifications at our facility.
