SCHEDULE: Flexible Weekday Hours Adjusted for Some Weekday Evening and Weekend Events
LOCATION: Flex: Limited on-site work at the Music Hall with remainder remote

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Major Gift Officer for Individual Giving is an outside philanthropic sales position responsible for individual gifts of $1,000 or more. This position is directly responsible for meeting DSM's annual individual giving goal of $1.75 million in conjunction with the Vice President of Development and the Director of Donor Relations and Operations. This integral part of the development department will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors by communicating directly through regular meetings, phone calls, individual/family foundation proposals, and other means. Familiarity with Fair Park and its surrounding neighborhoods and of the individual philanthropic society of Dallas is strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
● Grow relationships with current donors and builds new relationships with a portfolio of 150 or more qualified and prospective individual major donors through networking and other cultivation methods.
● Make 20 or more personal, meaningful face-to-face “calls” monthly as documented by call reports. This includes donor and prospective donor visits, meeting or exceeding annual metric goals set for discovery cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
● Write individual and family foundation proposals, sponsorship requests and reports
● Be engaged and present on-site at DSM presented performances when qualified or prospective individual major donors are in attendance.
● Coordinate with the Director of Donor Relations and Operations to serve as co-liaison of DSM's CenterStage Subcommittee and to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of CenterStage Stars donor benefit fulfillment and recognition.
● Acts as a public face for DSM in the Dallas individual philanthropic community.
● Assists in coordination of donor events including DSM Gala
REQUIREMENTS
● At least three years of progressive fund-raising experience in a not-for-profit organization, preferably in the arts, with a background in the cultivation and solicitation of individual donors, with proven ability to develop, solicit, and steward major gifts.
● Proficiency in common fundraising software/technology including integrated database systems, Microsoft Office, CRMs, and social media platforms.
● Demonstrated ability to manage time, deadlines, and confidentiality.
● Ability to regularly work night and weekend hours.
● Access to consistent method of transport to/from the Music Hall at Fair Park and locations in/around Dallas County.
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience working in Raiser's Edge and/or Archtics
● Appreciation for musical theatre and/or the performing arts
● Bachelor's degree
