COMPENSATION: $80,000 to $120,000
SCHEDULE: Flexible Weekday Hours Adjusted for Some Weekday Evening and Weekend Events
LOCATION: Flex: Limited on-site work at the Music Hall with remainder remote

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Major Gift Officer for Institutional Giving is an outside philanthropic sales position responsible for meeting DSM's annual institutional giving goal of $615,000 in conjunction with the Vice President of Development. This integral part of the development department will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors by communicating directly through regular meetings, phone calls, corporate sponsorship and foundation proposals, and other means. Familiarity the institutional philanthropic society as well as governmental funding entities in North Texas and throughout the state is strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
● Grow relationships with current institutional donors and build new relationships with a portfolio of 75 or more of new qualified and prospective institutional donors through networking and other cultivation methods.
● Make 12 or more personal, meaningful face-to-face “calls” monthly as documented by call reports. This includes donor and prospective donor visits, meeting or exceeding annual metric goals set for discovery cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
● Write corporate proposals and sponsorship requests and edits corporate and foundation grant applications and reports; oversees grant calendar.
● Be engaged and present on-site at DSM presented performances when qualified or prospective institutional donors are in attendance.
● Serve as the liaison to DSM's Corporate Subcommittee and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of institutional donor benefit fulfillment and recognition.
● Act as a public face for DSM in the Dallas' corporate and foundation community.
● Assists in coordination of donor events including DSM Gala.
REQUIREMENTS
● At least three years of progressive fund-raising experience in a not-for-profit organization, preferably in the arts, with a background in the cultivation and solicitation of corporate and foundation donors, with proven ability to develop, solicit, and steward major gifts.
● Proficiency in common fundraising software/technology including integrated database systems, Microsoft Office, CRMs, and social media platforms.
● Demonstrated ability to manage time, deadlines, and confidentiality.
● Ability to regularly work night and weekend hours.
● Access to consistent method of transport to/from the Music Hall at Fair Park and locations in/around Dallas County.
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience working in Raiser's Edge and/or Archtics
● Appreciation for musical theatre and/or the performing arts
● Bachelor's degree
