    JOB TITLE: Environmental Services Technician (Part Time)

    DEPARTMENT: Facilities

    REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Manager

    DIRECT REPORTS: None

    TYPE: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

    COMPENSATION: $15 per hour

    SCHEDULE: Part-time technicians will work approximately 25 hours per week in mostly night/weekend shifts work in accordance with venue event schedules and associated staffing needs.

    LOCATION: On site: The Music Hall at Fair Park, Dallas, TX

    JOB SUMMARY:

    ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECHNICIANS are a vital part of the team that maintains and implements operational sanitation and cleaning practices for the Music Hall at Fair Park. These practices include but are not limited to: disinfecting surfaces regularly throughout the venue, managing trash and recycling removal, general upkeep and maintenance of all venue spaces including backstage, offices, and restaurant/bar areas etc. This position will report to the Environmental Services Manager and be part of an approximately six-member team of mixed full-time and part-time technicians. Full-time technicians will work mostly during office hours leading into event hours during which part-time technicians will work the majority of the hours immediately before, during and after ticketed events. Successful applicants will serve a critical role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the hundreds of thousands of visitors the Musical Hall welcomes each year.  THIS POSITION REQUIRES REGULAR ON-SITE WORK IN AND AROUND THE MUSIC HALL AT FAIR PARK. NO REMOTE WORK IS ANTICIPATED IN THIS ROLE. FAMILIARITY WITH FAIR PARK AND ITS SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS IS STRONGLY PREFERRED.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Retain and implement procedures on surface and air sanitation that ensure quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
    • Follow prescribed department policy and procedures through the direction of the Environmental Services Manager.
    • Ensure facility is cleaned and prepared prior to door openings for events.
    • Maintain the highest degree of restroom and food service area cleanliness.
    • Respond to all emergency or ASAP calls throughout the Music Hall.
    • Clean/disinfect all offices, dressing rooms, green room, theater, and other support spaces.
    • Ensure clean up immediately after events conclude.
    • Track, maintain and order cleaning supplies and equipment.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Two years of experience in environmental services.
    • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to write and speak English fluently.
    • Ability to climb stairs.
    • Must be available evenings and weekends.
    • Access to consistent method of transport to/from the Music Hall at Fair Park. On-site parking provided at no charge; DART and bus stops are located immediately adjacent the facility.
    • Ability to consistently display a positive, friendly, and energetic attitude and professional appearance.
    • Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19; DSM will consider accommodations for reasons based upon disability or religious beliefs.

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Expertise with materials, tools, machines, and other resources required in the field.
    • Knowledge of environmental services, laundry and surface/floor care program.
    • Experience in carpet and hard floor care process and equipment.
    • Spanish fluency.
